Biography

Dr. Lee is board certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine. He has practiced medicine with Virginia Oncology Associates since 1996. He has also served as Community Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School for over 10 years. His dedication to advancing cancer care in our community keeps him involved with local Oncology Performance Improvement Committees, Cancer Committees, Institutional Review Boards, as well as cancer research.

Dr. Lee earned his bachelor of science in Chemistry and medical degree (with honors) from the University of North Carolina (UNC). He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the UCLA Center for Health Sciences in Los Angeles, California. His Hematology/Medical Oncology fellowship was completed at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.

Dr. Lee contributed to cancer clinical research at Duke University Medical Center, earning the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s Young Investigator Award and the Berlex Oncology Foundation Research Fellowship Award. He is the author of several clinical abstracts and textbook chapters on various topics in hematology and oncology. He continues to be actively involved in clinical research. Dr. Lee remains an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Association for Cancer Research. He enjoys sports, especially soccer, running and cycling and spending time with his family.
