Biography

Carla Groshel earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in May 2014. She graduated Cum Laude from the Honors College at the University of Texas at San Antonio in December 2011, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She also graduated from Old Dominion University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Geography.

Prior to her current position, Carla worked in Primary Care in San Antonio working with the medically underserved and Primary Care with the Tricare system taking care of military dependents and retirees. She also worked at Urology of Virginia in the Paul F. Schellhammer Cancer Center treating urologic cancers. As a board-certified Physician Assistant, she is skillfully trained to examine patients, order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, prescribe medication, develop treatment plans, perform clinical procedures, and provide disease process and treatment education. She is focused on providing compassionate and evidence-based care for her patients.

Carla is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and has co-authored a chapter in a textbook for Advanced Prostate Cancer.
