Biography

Michael Wood is a board-certified Physician Assistant who graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science. Upon graduation, he joined the US Army as an Intelligence Officer and served in the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions. While deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, he was awarded the Bronze Star and Defense Meritorious Service Medals.

After his service, he attended the University of Florida's Physician Assistant program in Gainesville, Florida. He remained in Florida to work in both urology and emergency medicine before relocating to join Virginia Oncology Associates in the Newport News office.

Before attending PA school, Michael worked as an Emergency Medical Technician and Clinical Research Associate in diabetes research.

He enjoys outdoor activities and watersports in his free time.
