Biography
Dr. Alencar earned her medical degree from Federal University of Ceara, Brazil. She then worked there as a family physician for the National Family Health Program for three years. Afterwards she came to the US and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at University of Miami and Fellowship in Hematology‐Oncology at Albert Einstein School of Medicine in NY.
During her time at Einstein, Dr. Alencar participated in several research studies including projects with Murine Embrionic Stem Cells. She is the author of numerous abstracts and publications on topics in Hematology and Oncology. She has worked as a Hematologist‐Oncologist in Ashland, KY, and also as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Christus University in Brazil.
Dr. Alencar’s clinical interests include breast, lung and blood cancers. She is committed to providing Personalized Cancer Care and engaging patients in the latest cancer clinical trials.
