Biography
Dr. Jedrzej (NJ) Wykretowicz received his medical degree from Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poland, where he graduated with highest distinction, and where he also obtained a Ph.D. in biomedical science. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, and fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the University of Michigan, where he served as a chief fellow. Dr. NJ, as he is called by both his patients and colleagues, is passionate about patient care, cancer research, personalized medicine, and good quality of life for cancer patients.
Prior to joining Virginia Oncology Associates, Dr. NJ was a senior staff physician at the Henry Ford Cancer Institute in Detroit, where he received the Oncologist of The Year Award, served as an investigator for multiple clinical trials and was an active member of the Clinical Trial Protocol Review Committee assuring scientific integrity of research and safety of patients participating in trials. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Society of Oncology and American Society of Hematology.
Outside of medicine, Dr. NJ enjoys spending time with his wife and children, traveling, reading books, and playing soccer.
