Biography

Dr. Katherine DiNardo graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. She received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and received the Longcope Prize in Clinical Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She served as one of the chief medical residents at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. She then completed her Hematology/Oncology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. During her training, she published and presented research exploring epidemiologic relationships and interventions in patients with advanced cancer, patient-reported outcomes, and the mental health of cancer patients and their caregivers.

Dr. DiNardo is trained in treating all cancer types and blood disorders, with a special clinical interest in breast and gastrointestinal oncology. She is an active member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Society of Hematology.

She grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and is excited to return to Hampton Roads and provide access to the latest advances in oncology to better serve the community that raised her. Dr. DiNardo is dedicated to partnering with patients and delivering comprehensive, compassionate cancer care customized to meet an individual’s unique needs and cancer biology.

Outside of medicine, Dr. DiNardo enjoys traveling, painting, and spending time with her young children, husband, and extended family.
