Biography
A native of Alexandria, Virginia, Dr. Song K. Kang attended the University of Virginia. Dr. Kang has served on committees, editorial advisory boards, and as a reviewer for various oncology societies and publications.
An advocate of clinical research, Kang has authored publications in journals including Cancer, New England Journal of Medicine, and the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology and Physics, as well as chapters in the textbook, Principles and Practice of Radiation Oncology. He has also presented his research at national meetings including American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American Society for Clinical Oncology, and Radiation Research Society.
Prior to joining Virginia Oncology Associates, Kang practiced and served as the Clinical Director of Radiation Oncology at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, where he was appointed Assistant Professor of Radiology.
An enthusiast of the arts and recreation, Kang enjoys classical music, and an array of competitive sports including tennis and racquetball. He lives in Williamsburg, Virginia with his wife and children.
