For Medical Professionals

Multispecialty Clinic at Virginia Oncology Associates

{caption}
Virginia Oncology Associates (VOA) offers specialty infusion therapies for patients with chronic diseases or conditions. Infusion therapy is a treatment in which medication is administered to a patient intravenously as an alternative to oral medication. Because so many medications delivered by infusion therapy are similar to oncology drugs in their specifications and side effect profiles, VOA is able to safely provide this unique service.

Why Choose VOA for Infusion Therapy?

Often patients must go to a hospital to receive infusion therapy, which can prove both costly and inconvenient. VOA provides cost-effective monoclonal therapy in a time-efficient weekend clinic visit. This allows patients and caregivers to avoid time away from work.

Infusion Therapy: What You Need to Know

  • VOA orders all medications needed for infusion therapies. Patients cannot bring their own drugs.
  • While VOA provides and supervises infusions, management of the patient’s primary illness will be directed back to their treating physician.
  • Patients must pay their co-pay prior to receiving their infusion.
  • Weekend appointments are available.
  • VOA requests 72-hour notice for new patients prior to receiving their infusion.

What Kinds of Conditions Can VOA Treat with Infusion Therapy?

  • Ankylosing Spondylitis

  • Myasthenia Gravis
